Marc Jean-Pierre is Committed to Educating Youth

As a Scout growing up in Haiti, Marc Jean-Pierre learned the importance of the program. So when he moved to America he committed himself to passing on what he learned as a boy.

After moving to Georgia and working for the Georgia Safety Patrol, Jean-Pierre took a position at Dobbins Air Reserve Base. There he and fellow officers started the area’s first military Exploring Post.

Exploring is Scouting’s career education program for youth ages 16-21. Explorers join Posts based on a variety of career interests including law enforcement, health care, engineering and (thanks to Marc Jean-Pierre) the United States Military.

The Atlanta Area Council’s Army Explorer Post has been educating young people about how the military functions and developing future service members for the past nine years. Marc Jean-Pierre attributes his own success in leading the Post to two key leaders in his life. His former Scoutmaster and his Commanding Officer, “are responsible for me leading Explorers today,”Jean-Pierre says.
