Rick Williams Was Impressed by Scouting

Rick Williams is the Chairman of the Board of Primerica and President of the Atlanta Area Council. Both of his sons were involved in Scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  Watching them grow and develop in Scouting, Rick became increasingly impressed by the organization. He began volunteering and now serves as the Council President.

Rick Williams’ sons Eagle Scout Projects served organizations in Atlanta and around the world. His eldest built bookcases and other furniture for a local preschool. His youngest sent books overseas to a school in Kenya.

He talks about lessons learned and the character building associated with the Eagle Scout Project. He was particularly impressed, he says, “that each project is in a real neighborhood, with real people, making a difference.”

“That’s one of the proudest things, for me, that my sons have accomplished,” he says, “…both of them refer back to their Eagle Scout Projects quite often.”

“Kids have many activities they can be a part of, but there are very few that develop a skill set that you can take with your for entire life.”
