The Atlanta Area Council turns 100 in 2016, and to celebrate we’re going to share 100 stories from Scouts, Leaders, Parents, Alumni and Volunteers here on this site.
What to Share
We want to hear what has made Scouting special to you. Whether you’re a brand new Scout Parent or a seasoned volunteer, an Eagle Scout or a Tiger Cub, we want to hear your story.
It can be about a lifetime of service or just a really fun weekend camping trip. You can talk about your Eagle Scout Project or your favorite Merit Badge.
How to Share
You can share your story as a video, a series of photos, or even just a couple of paragraphs. Whatever is easiest for you.
We created a short video showing you how to send in your stories. Have a look at it below.
If you’re having trouble putting your story together, or if you’d like someone from our team to put it together for you, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When to Share
This project will be ongoing throughout 2016. We’ll be collecting stories through December. Then, this website will be archived as a time capsule of what the first 100 years of Scouting in Atlanta were like.
Be sure to send in your stories before December for inclusion on the site.
Why You Should Share
The Atlanta Area Council currently serves over 30,000 youth in the Metro Atlanta area. And we’ve served countless thousands more since our founding in 1916. Each of those Scouts has a story, and we want to tell as many of them as possible.
We’re proud of the positive impact we’ve had on our city, and we want to share it with the world. And we hope you’re just as excited to share in this 100th anniversary celebration as we are!
